Extend and Duplicate are different display settings for your computer.

• Duplicate shows the image on the monitor and the connected projector. 
• Extend means the monitor and projector act as one large screen 

The display settings on the classroom computers can sometimes change based on prior use of the classroom. You may need switch display modes, especially if you use Presenter view in Microsoft PowerPoint. 

If you are in a classroom and see only the computer background, you will need to change the display settings with the computer. Start by right clicking on the desktop screen and click on Settings, then Display. 

Scroll down until you see Multiple displays and click on the drop down menu to select Duplicate these Displays to change the settings. Next, a window will display asking if you want to Keep changes or Revert. Be sure to click on Keep changes.
