Voter & Candidate Information

Requesting a Mail-In or Absentee Ballot

Mail-in ballots come with two envelopes: a security envelope and an outer envelope. Before you return your ballot, make certain that it is placed into the security envelope and that the security envelope is placed inside the outer envelope. Ballots not enclosed inside the security envelope are called naked ballots and will not be accepted. Also be sure to sign and date the outer envelope as directed.

Completed mail-in and absentee ballots need not be placed in the mail. Instead they may be returned to a secure ballot drop box location in the county in which you vote. The following link provides a list of secure ballot drop box locations in Montgomery County and their hours of operation for those living in the county.

For drop box locations in other Pennsylvania counties, consult the I Will Vote website.

In Pennsylvania, in-person mail voting is available through Tuesday, November 1.

This process entails going to your county board of elections office (in the county seat), requesting a mail-in ballot on the spot, filling it out as directed, and submitting it.
