Remember to never look at the sun or an eclipse without the proper eye protection. Sunglasses are not enough protection. Never use binoculars or telescopes to look at the sun or eclipse. Only use specialty lenses, pinhole viewer or a live stream. Looking directly at the sun or eclipse for a prolonged period can cause permanent damage to your eyes.
NASA's guide to safe eclipse viewing.
You can look at the sun during the eclipse if you have specialty lenses which are available to purchase. If you don't have specialty lenses, you can make an eclipse viewer at home with a few household materials.
